Baby, child and family lifecasting in Hampshire

Capturing a moment in time, so you can treasure the memory forever.

I’m sure we can all agree, there’s not much that’s cuter than a pair of newborn hands or feet. They have all those lovely wrinkles and creases, which make them super squidgable. The trouble is, they grow so quickly and before you know it, they’re starting school (or Uni in my case)!

One way to cherish that gorgeous newborn stage forever is with a detailed hand or foot cast of your baby. You can see from the examples of my work that a baby casting manages to capture all those lovely textures and details beautifully. The newborn hand and feet casts are almost as good as the real thing.

It’s not just newborn babies hands and feet I cast.  I can also cast the hands of older babies, children and extended family members too. Whether you want to capture you and your partner as a couple holding hands, a small family group or maybe even a grandparent’s hand. I love being creative so if you have an idea for a life cast, get in touch to see if it’s possible.

Life casts can be created to capture every age; from newborn baby hand feet casting to older children, parents & grandparents’ hand casts.

When it comes to your life cast, there are a range of options available including free-standing and mounted casts. Click the button below to view the most popular choices but if you can’t see what you’re looking for, please get in touch and I’ll be happy to help.

Life casting gift vouchers are also available and make a great baby shower present.

The casting process

Your life casting appointment will take place at my home in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire and takes about an hour. During this time we will not only take the casting moulds but also  discuss the finish of your hand or foot cast including the framing or display options you would like.

To make the casting moulds, I use a material called alginate which is used by dentists to take impressions of teeth. It is derived from seaweed and is completely safe to use on skin including your baby’s delicate skin. The alginate is prepared and poured into a pot where your baby’s hand or foot is placed for their cast. It doesn’t take long for the alginate to set to a rubbery consistency which is when I remove the foot or hand. Once I have taken your life casting mould, you are free to head off and leave me to work on the next stage of creating your beautiful hand or foot cast(s).

I love crafting casts with a perfectionist touch, treating each one like it’s my own. My clients appreciate my eye for detail, capturing every little wrinkle and crease that makes the moment truly special. With years of experience, I’ve honed my technique to make sure your cast stands out and showcases all the beautiful details.

It takes approximately 8 to 10 weeks for me to create your highly detailed life casts.

About me

Hi, I’m Helen and I love lifecasting. I’ve been a professional life caster for over 20 years and have cast hundreds of people’s hands and feet from my home near Southampton in Hampshire.

It’s a privilege to create life casts for parents who want to preserve the memories of their babies and children as their family grows (and they do grow up fast). I’ve taken hand and feet casts of my own children as they’ve grown over the years, starting when they were babies. Seeing their casts around our home is a lovely reminder of how tiny they once were.

I’m an adventurous person and love a challenge – one year, I even made it to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Now that my children are grown up I have more time to spend on my love of keeping fit, interior design and walking with my husband and our dog. My next epic adventure is being planned as we speak.

I live in Chandlers Ford and have cast families from across the south. I’ve even had families travel from London for one of my highly detailed life casts. I’d love to hear from you if you want to know more about life casting your family.

“Without a doubt my favourite keepsake!”
